serena4/13/15– planted mulberry tree in front, per instructions from St. Lawrence nursery
–planted three sea buckthorn bushes on the side, per instructions from St. Lawrence nursery
4/14/15–planted three hazelberts in the island, per instructions from St. Lawrence nursery
4/15/15–re-did the underlayer of the 8 fruit trees in the back. (Based on MOFGA orcharding talk at the library) Moved mulch back to drip line. Moved some of the day lilies and tulips to the drip line.
Added amendments:
- Rock phosphate: light sprinkle
- Green sand: half a handful
- Kelp meal: half a handful per tree
- Gave the trees each a 1.5 gallon bucket of water.
Re-did the mulch on the 6 blueberry bushes: pulled pine needle mulch back to the drip line. added same amendments as above, worked it into the soil.
Added same amendments to sea buckthorn and hazelberts.
